Chapter 2: Strategeic Planning for Competitive Advantage.

Def Jam recording have built relationships with radio station.To be the first to have a Def Jam artists radio single first and for they promote their albums and tours on the air.The label has twitter to keep up the fans updated and fans can reply to the label on what they like or don't like.Each artist has their on twitter to reply to their fans and keep them updated on what they are doing.Also Facebook is used build the labels image up on the social network and each artist has their own page and post up topics, news picture,music,etc.



                             The Def jam website has each artist own page, news on what the label is doing or sell the artists album on the site with iTunes.They have a photo gallery for the fans favorite artist, a television channel that shows the behind the scene on the label or artist so the fans can be more in touch the culture of Def Jam.A  fan can have a  membership to the def jam website , they also post up tour dates and artist past albums.The Label has built relations with ticket outlets to promote their  artist tour date and buy tickets. Ticket outlets like Ticketmaster,ticket web,live nation,etc.Television networks like B.e.t. , MTV, vh1, fuse, Def jam has worked with over the years has  great business relations  so their artist musics video's are premiere their first   and special performance are aired there first, in return they promote their artist albums or use their songs for their shows.
